Feng Shui for Hall or
Living Room
A feng shui
living room draws people in and makes them feel
welcome, relaxed, and secure. It’s as inviting for
one as it is for a group. People associate feng shui
with things like buddha statues and crystals, but
it’s really just about creating a sense of flow and
balance. Living room & hallways are like arteries
and veins, distributing the good chi into the home
and allowing poor chi to circulate.
The living room of any
house
is where all the occupants of the home gather, thus
the
atmosphere
of the living room should be peaceful and calm.
You can achieve perfect harmony in your
surroundings, and then by extension, your life. It
is based on the concept of "chi", or life energy,
and its goal is to promote a healthy flow of this
energy.
Corners and
niches will deaden the flow of chi, and should be
paid special attention to. Try to light up corners
with lamps, or liven up the area by hanging a
favorite painting - preferably one that is colorful.
Since feng
shui is also about balancing masculine and feminine
elements (yin and yang), try and incorporate soft
cushions or flowers into a room to make it a little
more feminine. Don't use dried flowers though; these
are inauspicious according to chinese tradition.
Keep your
entryway clear of clutter. Clearing your living
room of clutter and strategically placed mirrors,
for instance, will probably also add to the
aesthetic of your primary living space, and this
can't be a bad thing.
Living
things like live plant water fountain, water
feature, aquarium, when placed
motivates any observer and adds charm to your
living, it is believed that the
feng shui aquariums
attract the energy flow for wealth and
lavishness. Not just an appealing sight, but the
fresh water and colourful fishes soothe the brain
and mood. Well install your aquarium is the
southeast, north or the east direction. Each of
these directions has positive qualities affecting
the career, education, family, wealth, fame,
relationships, children and travel wealth, career,
health and family.
The living room should be regular in shape. It
should be neither too small nor too big. It must
have enough room to allow the energy move around.
The living room must not be higher than the dining
room. Do not have a mirror reflecting the main door.
Avoid poison arrows or protruding corners in the
living room. Keep the living room well lit, best
achieved with a crystal chandelier. Do not place
furniture under exposed beams. Do not display
pictures of fierce or aggressive animals in the
living room. Avoid exposed shelves in the living
room, as this can send out killing energy.
Add more light change out that standard ceiling
fixture, replace the basic shade with something more
ornate or replace it completely with several small,
sparkling bright chandeliers,
paint the living room hallway with bright fun
colors.
Don’t place
a mirror opposite a front door. This pushes the energy right back out the door. If you want a
mirror to open up your foyer, adding a mirror is a
great idea. Just don’t put it opposite the front
door.
Don’t
reflect negative views.
Make sure mirrors aren’t placed where they’ll
reflect a toilet door, a fireplace (above a
fireplace is fine), a stovetop, or messy areas. When
you can see an ugly view in a mirror, this magnifies
the energy. |
